TNPSC Group 4 syllabus

Part A — Tamil (eligibility-cum-scoring)

This part tests Tamil language ability. It covers Tamil grammar and Tamil literature and authors. It is both a scoring test and a language-eligibility gate, so a basic command of Tamil is essential.

Part B — General Studies and Aptitude

This is the wider paper. It pulls from six general-studies units plus aptitude:

• General science
• Current affairs
• Indian and Tamil Nadu geography
• History, polity and economy
• Indian national movement
• Tamil Nadu's socio-political history and development administration
• Quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning

In short: a mix of school-level general knowledge, Tamil Nadu context, and basic reasoning. No advanced maths or specialised law knowledge is needed.
