TNPSC Group 4 eligibility
Educational qualification
The basic requirement is a pass in SSLC (10th standard) or an equivalent qualification. Typing and shorthand posts additionally require a government technical certificate in the relevant skill (for example, a typewriting certificate for a Typist post).
Age limit
The age limit is 18 to 32 years for most posts, and 21 to 32 years for certain watcher and forest posts. Category-wise relaxations apply as per Tamil Nadu government rules, so SC/ST/OBC and other reserved candidates get extra upper-age relaxation.
Language
Knowledge of Tamil is mandatory. Part A itself tests Tamil, so anyone without working Tamil will struggle to qualify.
Age is normally calculated as on a date specified in the notification. Check the exact reference date for the cycle you are applying to.
